The finish on the tiller, if it's like the one that I got from Ruddercraft,
would benefit from additional coats of varnish. This past spring,
I sanded the one that I got from Ruddercraft. Due to weather and
other conditions, was able to apply four coats of Epiphanes High Gloss
per instructions (first coat half varnish/half thinner, etc.). Much better
finish that the finish from the factory.
