Hi All,
I bought my Alberg #160 in spring of 2020.. I don't know if the hatches are original or not.
The stern lazarette hatch is wooden, and my foot went through it.. so I am repairing that in my basement.
The sliding cockpit hatch has a wooden top, and looking at the bottom of it, it appears to have a fiberglass covering underneath.
I wanted to take the hatch off the slides , but have not figureed out how to do that.. there are metal stops on both sides of the hatch, on the bottom, both fore and aft, that keep it from coming off the metal rails in either direction.
I took off the vertical metal slides that keep in the drop boards, thinking it would then slide off, but the stops prevent that.
I don't see how I can get the stops off, although as I write this, I do have a right-angled screwdriver that might be able to remove the stops.
In the short term I am doing a patch job on the hatch while in place, but in the fall I'd like to take it off and repair it properly or replace it.
Any one removed that hatch before and have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Loretta
Rainbow #160
