I think you just captured my future me. Always aspiring to go longer and farther, but never really made it to “cruising”, I am a happy day sailer with one eye on when it starts to become physically difficult. Life is a series of phases and rehabs. Same with skiing and cycling. Mostly shorter days and better weather. But still always with permanent grin and a little grit.
