I'd be interested if the USCG (or the Dept Commerce that handled
documents, or maybe it was the Treasury under Customs for many years)
will give you any history. I tried going the other way to find who had
my old schooner, <i>Brigadoon I, </i>and was told they could not release
such information under the Privacy Act. It seems the Privacy Act works
only when it would be helpful and non-invasive but not when you really
don't want your private info given out.
