I've been reading alot of Pardey,
Hiscock, and watching Jean-du-sud. All advocate very small or no
engine. I was wondering if anyone has experience with very small diesels
on an Alberg 30. What are the drawbacks or the good things about a small
diesel in our size boat. I have a 15 hp. Universal diesel and it seems to
be plenty of engine. Of course I sail the entire season on about a gallon
of diesel. Once out of the marina proper, which is about 5-10 minutes, the
sails go up. Any comments would be appreciated.
