<DIV><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial><SPAN class=547570420-08032001>To replace
the impeller or propeller you need to match the knot scale on the
dial. Probably a white impeller from Holland Marine. You have a
mechanical knotmeter that is like an old car speedometer, and it uses a cable
that runs from the propeller inside a hose up to the cockpit display.
These things are somewhat old technology thus you have problems fixing
them. Your prop will cost about $ 30-40 Cdn, plus a wrench to take it off
and put on. But your cable is old and if it is bent or kinked it just might
break. To replace the cable is another $ 150 Cdn. I don't know if
they are made any more. Sumlog is all electronic now. So by this
time you are getting up in price to a new cheap electronic knotmeter. I
can't offer any other advice. I took everything on mine off and cut the
cable at the bad spot and reattached everything and will drag if off the
stern this summer. This meant plugging the holes in the hull. If it
doesn't work I will just think about knots and use my gps or stay near the
coast. A knotmeter isn't that important.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
