Hi Joe,

Been there, done that, no
problems.

You did say sand bar and only
1/2 hour, right? You said bumped enough to shake the rig. You do mean bounced on
sandy bottom, right. Is your rig tight tight or is your rigging on the loose
side?

OBTW, where is the
sand bar you hit? We go over by Sandy Hook frequently and I want to miss it. We
routinely hit a shallow spot in the middle of the Coney Island Flats, about 1
mile out from the Steeplechase pier. It shows on the chart as 5' depth but at
low or lower low it's less.

Where are you
moored (docked)? I'm in Jamaica Bay at Gateway Marina. #383-- Chris Katehis is
moored in Sheepshead Bay. Last weekend we spent the night in Great Kills on
Staten Island and saw two other Alberg 30's there. Are you one? If our local
numbers grow much more, we will have to have a rendezvous real
soon.

After spending a
beautiful night anchored off Sandy Hook, NJ, we ran aground
on a sandbar
that had shifted since the printing of our chart. We were
aground
about a half hour (luckily on a rising tide), but during the
grounding, we
bumped the bottom a few times, enough to shake the rig a bit.
Since
this is our first season with "One Love," I hope I didn't damage the
hull
or rudder. Any reassurance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
