<P>I am thrilled to see the interest in racing, it helps make our organization strong. I hope this also means that we will have high participation in the sanctioned events scheduled for this Fall. </P>

<DIV></DIV>The Folks over at EYC have suggested to me that they would give the Albergs
<DIV></DIV>a Start on fridays through the summer if intersted. One skipper said he
<DIV></DIV>would like to participate if we agreed to have this be more of a rookies
<DIV></DIV>type series with possibly no spinnakers. Would you and others participateon
<DIV></DIV>friday evenings through august? EYC would award trophies. All are welcome,
<DIV></DIV>to particiapte, you do not have to be a member to race, just fill out the
<DIV></DIV>entry form pay the fee & start.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>Let me know the first start of the Second series has past but the next start
<DIV></DIV>is :
<DIV></DIV>This Friday, July 26 and goes through August 30.

<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> Dear List,
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> I am looking for a usable spinnaker and pole.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> I have done some shopping at Bacon's, but haven't found something
<DIV></DIV>> that fits my budget. I want to be able to race this fall, and I'd
<DIV></DIV>> be willing to do it without a spinnaker, but it would be better
<DIV></DIV>> if we could at least SEE the rest of the fleet.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> I am racing with St. John's college (I'm a grad student, and we
<DIV></DIV>> have a - recently founded - sailing club), so maybe if anybody
<DIV></DIV>> has an extra chute and pole that they would like to donate, I'm
<DIV></DIV>> pretty sure it would be tax deductible. At any rate, we could
<DIV></DIV>> probably work something out.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> Alternately if anybody has a chute and/or pole that they could
<DIV></DIV>> loan me or sell to me for a low price, I would be real interested
<DIV></DIV>> in hearing about it. Please contact me directly by e-mail.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> I am in Annapolis, MD.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> Thanks,

Cruising the Chesapeake: A Gunkholer's Guide
My favorite Chesapeake Bay guidebook. While it mentions marinas,
it concentrates on anchorages--the kind of places I prefer to spend
my time. And in addition to listing shore facilities, it rates each
location for Beauty/Interest and Protection. This is the guide you
need to really cruise the Chesapeake Bay--a smorgasbord of small
creeks and coves.
