<P>It's difficult to determine the hull number from the number on the sails, since there is no way to be sure that these are the original sails. The best way to determine the number is to check the boat registration/documentation that came with the boat. </P>
<P>To confuse things further, Whitby ran a dual number system for the first year or so. Therefore, there are duplicate numbers for the first 26 boats. [I think this is where the dual number system stopped, please correct me if you know better]. Anyway, the first boat nymbers were preceded by as US [for boats delivery to the US] and a KC [for boats delivered to Canada]. Sooo....if you own #505, as I do, it really isn't the 505th boat to be built, It's really the 531st one [if my 26 assumption is correct]. </P>
