<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Peter,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> When I bought my A30, one of the first
things I did was to change from a wire/rope main halyard to an all rope 3/8"
halyard. It fit fine and I used it for the six (or so) years I owned her with
no problems. The current owner is still using the same halyard and hasn't
mentioned any concerns to me.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>I see from the Maintenance site that the standard sheave
can take a 3/8" halyard. Is there space in the housing above the sheave for
this size line?If the space is tight could it be increased by careful use of
a grinding stone on a Dremmel? Is 3/8" an O.K. size for a mainsail
halyard?</FONT></DIV>
