Brian,

We were there. We only went into ego alley 1 time, because the first time
around, they didn't allow us in. Entrance to Ego alley is limited because
of space restrictions.

Anyway, we had colored lights run up the fore- and backstays, a white burgee
with the red letters 'SJC' (for St. John's College) in the foretriangle,
and white lights around the lifelines. We were tied up at SSA (Severn Sailing
Association) in Eastport with the lights on after the parade, until about
midnight.

Thanks for coming out and watching. I am sorry you missed us. We were not
in the brochure, but we were in the parade!

By the way, it was a LOT of fun, and I highly recommend it to anybody who
is borderline considering doing it next year. What a blast!
What Happened? I was up on Ego Alley brhind Fawcett's. It was my
first time seeing the parade and it was very nice. Our viewing location
was good since we were right up front (I was leaning on a piling most of
the parade), and out of the strongest winds. Nice parade Annapolitans.

240 ????about 11 passengers??????

Dear List,

Can anybody tell me how many people are allowed on an Alberg 30
per USCG regulations? I assume there is a limit, but I don't have a
placard on my boat.

I will be participating in the EYC light parade tomorrow evening,
and I need to make sure that I am not overloaded. Can anybody give me
a guideline on this?

Also, I found out this past week that there is a very real possibility
my company will be sending me to work in Hawaii for 2 years. I would
like to take Calliope with me, and the only way I can see to
do this is to have her shipped from Annapolis to LA and sail from there.
I can't devote the time to sailing the whole way, and maintain aforementioned
job at the same time. Has anybody done the Pacific cup or Transpac race
on an Alberg 30 recently? I would very much like to meet with anybody
in the annapolis area who has bluewater cruising experience on an A30
and is interested in sharing ideas and suggestions with me. I would
also be interested in knowing if any of you folks who have got trailers
would be willing to consider chartering to me for trucking across country.
Further, anybody who is near Annapolis and would be willing to come
out to the boat with me and help me make a prioritized list of what
I would need to accomplish before I could safely compete in the Pacific
Cup, I would really really REALLY appreciate that. This will be a big
undertaking for me, and I could use some help in the planning phase
to make sure that I do an effective job of preparing and determining
whether it's even realistic.
