That set-up would certainly let me see what is going on.  Your captions 
mention cracks, did you have to do any repair on the tank?  I guess a good 
port & a good installation are critical since this would be below the level 
of water in the tank.  What did you use for a port?  Unless I find some 
other explanation for the water, I will probably go the same way.
