[Public-list] Ice in the Bilge

Todd - 

I would worry about the corrosive effects of Rock Salt. Most stuff in the
boat is designed to resist it of course.
Mike Lehman advised me to disconnect the hose from the engine seawater
intake so that any incoming water couldn't rise to the engine. Antifreeze
will not melt it, but you may find a birdbath heater would work and would be
quite safe.

I would agree that it's not a risk of damage because it can easily expand
upward.
