Hi Guy, 

ScotchBrite is a 3M product that looks like an abrasive sponge. I also used to
use 220 paper between coats of varnish, but a proffesional varnisher said that
the ScotchBrite gives the new coat just as much 'tooth' to hang on to, without
removing as much of the previous coat of varnish, and you make less dust. I
was just curious if you know a reason NOT to use ScotchBrite.
