If you have ever seen those big floor-buffing machines used to clean office
floors, scotch-brite is the round "foam" pads that scrape and clean.
Incidentally, buying a pad and cutting it up into bits is also the cheapest
way to buy "scotch-brite".  The material structurally feels similar to steel
wool but is made of some sort of plasticy material. Most chandleries and
hardware stores also sell the stuff.
