I've stripped and refinished twice in 12 years w/o removing the

I had a local cabinet maker epoxy new veneer on the top surface of the
lazarette hatch, and it looks great. I may do the same (eventually) for
the companionway hatch, its scraped through in a few spots from
stripping varnish in past years.
