Just for info, so is the cookie recipie thing, it, along with the hoax
e-mail virus stuff has been recurring for *years*.

Just so you know, as Dan said, there is no way opening and reading e-mail
can hurt your computer (I worked for the IBM anti-virus group for several
years).  

On the other hand opening and executing an attachment can propagate a virus
(infect your computer), so don't execute programs, or read Word documents,
that come from unknown sources via e-mail attachment.  Run a good virus
checker on your computer.
