You could have a problem...but I think that I might be more worried about
the water just pouring back while sailing with the engine off and the port
rail in the water.  As opposed to when motorsailing where the exhaust keeps
pushing the water along.

The water lift muffler on Wyvern is just a little lower than the engine,
straight back, with the dry stack going up about 6" from the manifold, aft
then down about 8" to the top of the muffler.

Check Calder's Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual, there is a
good section in there.
