Tangaroa #445,

Our holding tank is in the center bilge, just forward of the dual battery
compartment. It has a galvanized top with grey putty or resin around the
edges. At the forward end is a clear plastic cutout, with PVC pipe
connections. The standard ribbed hose for intake & outlet snakes forward
from this, then left under the floor to the forward side of the head where
it runs up & down & out. The water intake for the head is roughly behind &
down. There is room behind the head to run hose up for pumpout fitting at
deck level. A anti-siphon valve is on the bow side of the head compartment,
with the folding sink to the aft side. I don't know if the waste tank uses
the keel top & hull as its bottom & sides, or if it is separate. I think I
have to adjust the outlet because it sucks from the top of the tank rather
than near the bottom. I've pumped it out manually through an inspection
port; the tank seems to be around one & one-half foot deep or so. With no
water in the bow tank & the head tank empty, the boat floats about two
inches higher on the waterline.
