Our positive battery cable was the culprit that was giving us the
intermittent starting problems.  It could be also be any other part of
the wiring involved, of course. Best to look at all of it.  The marine
electrician checked out all of ours without finding anything that he
thought was definitely causing it.  He then suggested replacing the
positive cable as it was "old" and thus suspect.  That did it.  We had
replaced the switch last fall, but, it did not help at all.
