I just looked at my water tank, which is under the V-berths. The filler
hose comes down in the chain locker and bends 90 degrees and runs under
the port bunk to a fitting on top of the tank which has openings for the
filler, the vent and the output tube, (all on top of the tank,  thus the
need to pump the water at the sink. )

    It looks to be pretty integral to the hull.

    People have put holding tanks under the aft end of the port V-berth,
in fact I have such a tank, not yet installed. There was a group buy two
years or so ago. Not the easiest job.
