  The dismasting after being rolled 360 degrees is definitely the dramatic
moment of the film, and food for thought.  Under that strain, would ANY
strengthening of the rig be sufficient to prevent dismasting?  I think the
chainplate attachements are the weakest link on our boats, and have thought of
going with the larger bolts that are suggested in the maintainance handbook,
and even getting extension plates made up to go over the lower two bolts, and
then further down to grab  more of the bulkhead.  But then something else down
the line would probably  give.
So it was mast flexing that prompted him to go for the double spreaders, huh?
Hmmm, have to think this one over.
