I believe that I remember that when Galinas showed the video to the
Alberg group years ago, he said that after several Atlantic crossings,
he thought that the mast flexed too much and thus installed double
spreaders before his round-the-world sail.  He gave a detailed
description of the changes that he made to his Alberg in anticipation of
the sail.  I remember being impressed that they were few.  One I
remember is that he did some things compartmentize the bilges.  He also
removed his engine.  I also think he said that he replaced all of the
standing rigging -- I think with the same size stuff -- except the
chainplates, one or more of which failed when he rolled.  Maybe someone
else that was at that Annapolis night remembers more.

It is a great film.  Galinas was facinating to listen to that night.
