Hi George,
  I wrote the ealier letter on this topic this morning before I read your
comments.  If you have used the penetrating oil/impact wrench  technique
yourself and not cracked the plate, then I have much more confidence in the
technique, and will try it. I'm going to let it soak a LONG time!
