Greg, the coupler can be mounted to a stern pulpit with stainless hose 
clanps, and taped over.
The mpunting knobs can come from an old radio, etc, or even screws and wing 
nuts.  I'd look for a used coupler for a lot less.  Sure , you can get a gps 
for that price, but you can expect more accuratcy  with the Loran.  Russ
