A ceramic heater is a good idea I use a 120 volt ceramic heater and it
works great and is compact. However running one on 12 volts is another
matter. 10 amps for 8 hours is 80 amp hours. Given that it is not wise
to discharge a battery more than fifty per cent. That would mean a
battery with a 160 amp hour rating. That is a very big battery. If the
heater was used on a regular bases the life of the battery would be
compromised particularly if it was also being used for other things.
(running lights, anchor light,ect)
