[alberg30] Remove step plate

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to remove the mast step plate on top of the cabin. The screws came out without any problems. However the plate still won't come off. Trying to pry it off only damages the 1/2 inch high fiberglass mound on which it sits.

To those who have already done this, how did you get the plate to come off ? George ?  Joe ?  Anyone ?
