Russ:

    An engine comment: it's harder on most engines to lug them at low RPM that to
run faster (assuming you don't let them rev so fast the valves float). I'm not
sure about the Atomic 4 - does it have modern insert rod & crank journal
bearings?  Just as flooring your stick-shift car in high gear at 15 mph strains
it more than as though you were in 2nd, lugging the engine in the boat is not
good for it.
