Dick ... Thanks a bunch for the reply and generous offer to send info.
and pictures. I am still weighing my alternatives. I currently have the
head off of the Westerbeke and in the hands of a competent shop for
evaluation. I am trying to get a fix on the cost of parts and then I
must decide whether to rebuild or re-power. One of my considerations is
that I believe this engine is a bit large/heavy ( 497 lbs + trans. ) for
the Alberg 30. Whoever put it in did do a real good job, but it pretty
well fills up the available space. The companionway steps were moved
forward about four inches. I will let you know what I decide when I get
the figures together.

Does anyone else know of an Alberg 30 with a Westerbeke 30 installed ? I
believe this engine was formerly referred to as a Westerbeke Four-91.
One dealer even called it a Westerbeke/Perkins.
