[alberg30] Trailers

Janet, I put out a call for a trailer last winter on this list and found a
used custom two axle trailer down in Ontario. In shopping, I contacted
TRIAD trailers in Conn. who has built Alberg 30 trailers and has plans.
Their price was a little steep for me (about $6,000), but the used trailer I
found works quite well and I would consider hauling my boat 75 miles on it.
I'm not sure I would haul to the West Coast. I don't know what state or
province you are in, but in Michigan, anything over 8 feet wide requires a
special permit. Fortunately I live in a community policing community and
our informal agreement with local law enforcement allows us to move our
boats to and from our winter storage areas to the lower harbor without
permit or any trailer license. I'm not sure our secretary of state
approves, but she rarely crosses the bridge anyway.

If I remember correctly there was a discussion on trailering the A30.
Does anyone have any information on this. I would like to move 449 to my
home, about 75 miles. Does anyone have some pictures and dimensions. Are
they for a fifth wheel or conventional. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.. JL..
