 I'd be interested if the USCG (or the Dept Commerce that handled
documents, or maybe it was the Treasury under Customs for many years)
will give you any history. I tried going the other way to find who had
my old schooner, Brigadoon I, and was told they could not release such
information under the Privacy Act. It seems the Privacy Act works only
when it would be helpful and non-invasive but not when you really don't
want your private info given out.
