[alberg30] Cracked flange on gooseneck

I'm no expert on this, but years ago I had an aluminum spreader base crack
and had a marine welder do the welding and no problems with it. I take my
bristol out in all kinds of wind and it seems to have held up pretty much
over the years. It's my understanding that a weld when done properly is
stronger than the surrounding metal.  Anyone here know about this stuff?? If
you have a weld done, just be sure to go to a marine welder.
