I converted the forward compartment under the cabin sole into a holding tank
about 3 years ago. My forward compartment has an extra lip on it. that is to
say there is a place for the floorboard to set and a second flat about 1 inch
wide and 1/2 below where the floorboard lip. This extra lip allowed me to
convert it into a tank by building an odd shaped fiberglass top. I made the
top using polyester resin and mat, coated all surfaces exposed to the
continence of the tank with West epoxy and glued the top on with 3M 5200.
I tend to get a little carried away with some of these projects and this is
not for everybody but, it seems to be working fine.
I have some photos that I can email to you if you like.
Cutting out the liner and fitting a molded tank in would work nicely of you
could get a few people interested in the project.
Mark
