Ocean Outfitters has changed hands over the past year and a half. You can occaissionaly find a good buy there, usually rigging and hardware fittings or cabin accessories and older electronics. Not a bad way to spend an hour or so. Easy to find.

I love Bacons for sails , sailbags , sailcovers etc. Most of their fittings are not much cheaper than West Marine. Good selection of winches from time to time.

As for BAM , I've been twice and felt it was a grand waste of time and won't go back again.

If you want service , knowledgeble staff who are willing to work with you on ordering parts etc, you CAN"T beat Fawcetts. Prices are not that much above West Marine and you get service.

I agree with your assessment IF your talking about last October. I generally go just to check it out anyway. If I'm really looking for something in particular, I buy it new from a major chandlery or the manufacturer anyway. Sometimes, BAM has some great gadgets for cheap $, sometimes it is a waste of time. In any case, it's an excuse for a road trip to Annapolis and if I go at the right time, I get to spend an hour or two in Bacon also.
I just heard of another consignment shop in Annapolis. "Ocean Outfitters" Does anyone have any opinions on these guys as compared to Bacon? Is it worth my time to check them out (my time is cheap if I'm in town anyway)?

Don't waste your time with the BAM show. I went to the last one and the
pre-viewers had picked it clean by the time the general public got in....
