Greetings,

I have a 1965 A30 Powered by a Gray Marine, Sea Scout 91 four Cyl, 25hp
gas engine and have a few questions:

- Does anyone know about using a Vetus waterlock muffler on this engine?
I met someone in Annapolis who used one on his engine, same make and
model. I think it was a model LP40R. Currently my exhaust system
includes a straight black iron pipe running from the manifold throught
the lazarette where it connects through a 90 degree elbow to a Wilcox
Crittenden muffler. The water hose joins the muffler as well and
water/exhaust then goes overboard. The system is rusted out at the
exhaust, which has been cut out and I'm afraid to remove the straight
section from the manifold in case I might break bolts etc., so am
inclined to do a "patch job" on the existing system until I get the boat
home.
- If the water joins the exhaust just behind the manifold and both enter
the Vetus unit just after that, should I be worried about back pressure
and having to push the water to the lazarette and overboard?
- lastly, is the Atomic 4 the same as the Gray Marine engine?

Also, would anyone happen to have a furling genny of any sort for sale?

Thank you in advance for any info and for the opportunity to join the
group,

Andy Harasymczuk, Emeritus # 150
