[Alberg30] RE; cooling system

If you remove the thermostat completely, the engine will run at about 100 
degrees. I am told that this is too cold and causes damage to the engine. 
However, when my thermostat, on Gilleleje gave up {15 years ago} I was 
overcome by the replacement cost {I've been robbed before, but not 
willingly} so I thew the damn thing in the trash - the engine ran fine for 
12 years, and ran fine when I sold it to a Tartan 34 owner.

I have a question on the same problem.  Can I remove the thermostat
completely, or will the engine never heat up to the proper operating
temperature?
