[Alberg30] NMEA query

Greetings, all.

I've been looking at the new Standard Horizon GPS/chart/WASS units, and they 
seem to be an incredible deal, costing less than many standard GPS units 
without the chart and WAAS functions.  My questions:

(1) Is this deal too good to be true?  Does anyone have any experience with 
these units yet, or read any reviews about them?

(2)  The literature I've read about them says that they have a "NMEA data 
page" that will display depth, speed, temp, etc data from NMEA sensors.  Does 
this mean that I need only hook up, say, a Standard transducer to the GPS 
head to receive depth soundings through the GPS unit?  Or will I still need 
to buy and install the head unit for the depth sounder as well?

Inquiring minds want to know.
