[Alberg30] Ballast

None whatever. I would suggest that we simply determine a target--say a fender anchored at a pre-determined (equi)distance from the participating boats and blaze away. Taking pot shots at other Albergs is not necessarily discouraged, but the distinct privilege of doing so should be accompanied by a significant financial contribution to the Association (do you see where I am going with this?) after (in the case of hits) you pay all damages caused by your good gunnery. A sliding scale of points (dollars) owed for hits on Albergs would be like this: Hit on the Commodore's boat(any of them), $550.00 due the association. Hit on the Secretary's boat, $450.00 due the Association. Hit on the Treasurer's boat:YOU OWE ME a new diesel, radar, new Genoa, one of Yves Gelinas's self steering outfits and $10,000.00. All other boats, $5.00 due the association. Have contracts ready to sign. Any problems?

  Rob,
Yes, thats exactly what I'm suggesting. Probably the distance the spud flies should be determining factor for trophy. If you want to impress those jet skiers, attach a silk handkerchief to your spud before ramming it in barrel, and fire a "shot across the bow (or nose)". Any ideas for cannon design, event location, and date?

  Jay

Are you suggesting an A30 version of the Punkin Chunkin that is now an annual event on the Eastern Shore? I got my tater tool ready.....
BTY, the jetskiers are easier to hit if you use the functional equivalent of buckshot--tater tots, suitably frozen....and it helps if you slow 'em down with a liberal sprinkling of toothpicks in their area of operations. The picks float, so the A30's water intakes are not affected if you need to leave expeditiously.

  Mike,
How about a potato cannon competition at one of our raft-ups? The targets would probably have to be more benign than jet skiers, but it would still be fun.

It probably comes as no surprise that I have a potato canon too. They're
easy to make and fun to shoot at jet skiers, but boy do they get pissed.
