Take a look at
http://www.alberg30.org/maintenance/MechanicalPropulsion/EngineRemoval/
and see what you think. I think you'll find it easier to do the work
with the engine removed, even when you consider the work of removing
and replacing the engine. You'll have to realign the engine with the
shaft in any event, and that's probably the hardest part.
