Mike,
I took your advise and installed the 1 1/2 in the hull behind the head and
3/4 fitting under the settee. A nice clean installation it looks good.
Everyone thank you for the input.

Appearance wise it would look better because the seacock would be out of
view. There may be other advantages too, such as not having someone step on
it or kick it in heavy weather. The disadvantage I see is having to drill a
hole through the bulkhead. It has never caused a problem on the newer style
boats, but I feel the fewer holes the better.

Mike,
Since you have seen both designs #272 and #114 were the same it seems that
on the newer boats Whitby made the seacock accessible. In your opinion since
both of the original holes were filled with epoxy, would it better to
install the thru hulls and ball valves under the settee?

Mine on #505 is in the same place as Neal's. On Valency #272 it is forward
of the main cabin bulkhead under the shelf that holds the toilet. On #114

Mine (No. 486, with a liner) is located under the port settee, about six
inches aft of the wall that separates that locker from the head area. I is
about four inches inside the vertical frame of that settee.

I am in the process of preparing the installation of the new head and
holding tank. I removed the false floor from the head in #114 to find the
original floor in place (boy does that sae some time) . The fittings were
removed from the hull and holes filled with epoxy. The 1 1/2 fitting backing
plate remains on the hull so that placement is straight forward. The
question I have and hopefully someone can assist is the placement for the
3/4 thru hull fitting. It would seem to be mounted under in the hull under
the floor with the hose running up through the hole into the head intake.
Would anyone have a recommendation or suggestion?
Thanks,
Stephen
