Bill; The previous answer is correct. the pieces of metal are 2" x 3/4"x 
1/8"; they are drilled and countersunk for two wood screws. eddiediver at aol.com

I have a problem: I have just become the maintenance manager for an Alberg 30 
for a sailing club. The cockpit has 2 jib winches; bronze Merriman or 
Coastal?  I am trying to take them apart for cleaning. They have a recess in 
the top, under the slots for the winch handle. The recess has a 1/8" wide 
screwdriver slot? Is there a tool for this slot? Other than getting a bar of 
metal (or the above mentioned hatch hold downs)? eddiediver at aol.com
