[Alberg30] Re: Throttle/shift controls

Thanks. Your boat is arranged the same way mine is. I am trying to get
the trottle and the shift in the same place and have both operated by a
single lever. This may say more about me than anything else, but in
tight quarters, I think it would work better if they were in the same
place. I know you can get a two lever system from Morse, but understand
that their old heavy duty one lever system is no longer made. They have
a lighter duty single lever system but that works well for diesel
engines only I am told.

Thanks again.

I don't know about the mechanics but, Free Spirit #497
has a single lever shifter. The throttle is in the
control panel with the ignition tach and the rest of
the engine instruments. The lever slides in/out of the
gear selector (round bronze pice under tiller) great
for putting out of the way while crusing.
