[Alberg30] Water in settee lockers

What I do not understand is that of the Boats mentioned many have
different types of toe rails. THe newer ones have a fiberglass raised rail
that is capped by Teak, & older boats have a full teak rail. So who is
really having the leaks?

My boat Infinity #57 has salon leaking only if the shroud chainplates are
not caulked. But there was a problem with the cockpit lockers getting
filled every time it rained. That turned out to be the seat that was
leaking. Solution, new seat.

My other boat Daybreak #458 had extensive problems with water in the
salon. This turned out to be mainly the result of water from the port &
starboard Chainplates as well as a large number of holes on the foredeck.
These holes alloed water under the deck & it ran back to flow into the
cabin to the seat lockers in the salon. (Probably the lowest point in the
deck.) Having found most of the holes the leaks stopped.  But the core of
the problem is the problem.  Most of the newer boats with the liners
likely will experience problems if build with the balsa core. I hope this
is not the case but I suspect so.  This may be indicative of a bigger
problem, so ... find all of the holes.
