If you cannot find them locally, Jamestown Distributors in Bristol, R.I. can
ship them to you via UPS. I had issues finding them at West Marine and Boat
U.S., their stock went up to 5 inches.

I used 5/16" and am surprised to hear mention of using 1/4" that is what the
old bent ones were. 6" sounds right, but at the cost of the bolts, I would
measure the thickness of the beam and add the thickness of the plates and
add another 1/4" to 1/2" for the nuts and washers to be sure. You'll need to
got to a marine store for the fastners not Lowes or Home Depot.
