[Alberg30] Beck Beam Details

Richard,

There is a molding (correct me if I am wrong) that sits above the doors. I
needed to sand that down for a flush fit with the plates against the beam. I
can measure the bolts that I used to hold the plates in place, and send a
note this evening.

Deck Beam article suggests purchasing 1/4 Stainless Steel Bolts to secure
plates to beam. Two questions: 1. What length of bolts...6 inches? 2. Where
can one buy them (Lowes and H-Depot sell only galvanized)? Thanks

You should jack it up until the curve profile of the existing beam matches
that of the aluminum reinforcement plates. I am having a hard time
understanding what the piece of wood is/does that you describe. Sounds like
something that was added and will need to be removed before the plates can
be installed.
