I did this on my CAL 27 and the main problem was that it blocked the
companion way. I had mid boom sheeting on that boat so it worked out. I
had to move it from the aft end of the cockpit because I put wheel
steering in and could not leave it there.I would never do that to
TALISMAN, so would not move the traveller. Midboom sheeting created
larger loads and I have always been advised not to go there unless there
was a really good reason.

Has anyone on this list ever moved their traveler forward in the cockpit
so
that it runs across the seat just aft of the companionway, attaching to
the
mid-boom vs. the end? Other than going against the racing rules for
A30¹s
and occasionally blocking part of the companionway access, would there
be
any advantage or disadvantage related to performance in doing this?
