[Alberg30] How do I back this boat?

>wheel does turn clockwise. Wouldn't that cause >starboard wheel-walk?

It's been explained to me like this: the deeper you go the denser the water;
that makes the bottom half of the wheel revolution more efficient than the
top. the effect is minimiized in forward by the (alberg's huge barn door)
rudder, although on Checkmate I have to apply pretty good pressure on the
tiller when full ahead-she won't track straight if tiller is released.

The Alberg's cutaway forefoot, relatively short water line, and pretty good
overhang, all magnify any outside influences when backing. They also make
the boat extremely maneuverable in forward.

Any shoaling near your boat slip? Some sort of hydraulic effect could start
the process. Nobody pushing off the bow to clear that last piling? About the
only thing left I can think of is the motor/shaft is not parrallel to the
keel.
