You can screw the ball cocks on to the straight threaded through hull
fittings. Or you can use the flanged ball cocks by trimming the through hull fitting
length down so the screw into the seacock and draw up tight against the hull.
One note when I replaced the gate valves I found that some of the through
hull fittings were made in two pieces. One piece was the threaded pile and the
second was a washer. These two pieces were fitted together via a machined groove
in the pipe where the washer was fitted then the pipe was expander to capture
the washer. One of these through hull fell apart when I tried to remove it to
rebed it.
My advice is to get rid of any through hulls that don't appear to be one
solid piece.
