Randy,

Normally there are three 1" 1/2-20 flat-head machine screws and one 3" 
(5/8?) hex bolt holding the shoe on.  As Stephen Sousa mentioned, I'd 
also use 5200.  You can always heat the shoe with a propane torch when 
you need to remove it.
