Calvin:Installing a new engine in place of another different one,will not just drop in as the
salesman will have you believe.Without even seeing your problem,you need to hang the engine
with a chain fall,comealong or just block it and make the couplings up.If you can't get the
engine far enough astern to couple up,then you need to get another shaft which means haul out
or install a jumper shaft,"short section of shaft installed ahead of existing shaft to
compensate for the forward movement of engine.Once you have the engine coupled and free
spinning by hand the shaft,you can now work on a new engine bed attached to existing ones,or
glass in some new ones where needed,below the engine.First of all get that engine hung in
place and go from there.I've installed a 20 h.p kubota diesel in place of an A-4  in hull
191,and it wasn't a piece of cake,and I'm experienced in welding and shipyard work.Good luck
